Tivy junior Jesus Guzman placed 38th out of more than 100 students on violin, while junior Catie Painter placed 14th out of 38 students on bass. Katy ISD secondary students have the option to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom library, though as of November 7, parental consent is required prior to a student being able to do so. If parents do not provide consent via the Parent Option Portal, their secondary student will be unable to check out an ELA classroom library book. The Katy Advanced Program provides students with an opportunity to engage in above-grade level coursework in the areas of math, science, language arts, and social studies.

Students within KISD attend 31 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, 5 high schools, 3 special campuses, a state-of-the-art Career Center, and an Early College High School serving approximately 45,000+ students. High School
KAP courses are available beginning in 6th grade and are open to all students. Every student is encouraged to take at least one advanced level course in an area of interest. You may be contacted for additional documents needed to complete your student’s registration. A campus or district representative will contact you at a later date if needed. Several students earned spots in the TMEA Region 29 Treble Choir also. A new student is defined as new to Katy ISD and having never attended a school in Katy ISD, or a previous Katy ISD student that withdrew and is re-enrolling. A safe and civil environment is needed for students to learn and attain high academic standards and to promote healthy human relationships. Keller ISD is home to one of the most advanced Career and Technical Education campuses around.

Two Tivy High School Orchestra students earned the distinction of securing a spot in the Texas Music Educators Association’s All-Region Orchestra this past weekend. Several Hal Peterson Middle School students earned spots in the UIL Region Orchestras after a round of auditions recently. A dozen Tivy High School Choir students recently earned spots in Texas Music Educators Association Region Choirs, with four advancing on to the next round of auditions for the All-State Choir.
